On Thursday 17th October, Year 4 took part in a
Roman Day.
They dressed as a Roman soldier or citizen, and spent the part
of the day learning about the meaning behind different signs, symbols and
pictures on shields before designing and making their own. They then used our
shields to re-enact the three main invasions between the Romans and the Celts.
As you can see from the photos, They had so much fun!
What the children had to say...
“I don’t want to be a Roman soldier!” - Freya
“It’s harder than I thought, being a soldier.” - Alfie
“Soldiers are well trained and well fed, I really enjoyed
it.” - Taylor
