To celebrate Harvest, Year 1 focused on the sea. In their classes they explored the story of Mowser and Tom from the Cornish harbour town
of Mousehole.
They prepared and baked their own Harvest of the Sea healthy
breakfast which included fruity flapjacks, cheesy straw sea horses, fruit and
sandwiches. They wrote invitations to loved ones so that they could join them and look at the marvellous mackerel paintings and listen to the children's Harvest song.
As a final celebration of the subject, they ventured up to The Plough Arts Centre to watch films of The
Mousehole Cat and We’re Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen .
