On Friday 13th May, Bluecoat School was looking particularly blue for our 'Dress in Blue Day' to raise funds for our toilet twinning project led by the Eco-Ambassadors.
The aim of the day was to raise funds to pay for toilets to be built in other villages in some of the world's poorest countries who unfortunately in this day and age still don't have the most basic of human needs - a toilet and clean water to wash with. The Christian 'Tearfund' charity is very actively providing education as well toilets and water facilities for many villages in countries around the world, those who are able to raise £60 can 'twin' their toilet with another and receive a picture and GPS coordinate to go on their own toilet door so you can see the toilet you have helped be built for others less fortunate.
It is great news to say that we raised an amazing £319 - thank you to everyone who made a donation! This means we can now twin 5 of our toilet blocks which will include those in both the upper and lower school.
