Austrian Pen Pal Visit

In June, Year 4 had a visit from their Austrian penpals and they enjoyed a tour of Great Torrington with Bluecoat children sharing information about different places in the town with them. They visited The Commons, River Torridge, the War Memorial, The Pannier Market, the Town Square, Shambles, St. Michael’s Church, the Glove Factory, The grave of Thomas Fowler (inventor of the first computing machine) and the Secret Garden next to the library.

Back in school, our visitors shared some songs with the children during the singing assembly. They also shared information about Vienna with 4H and helped compare it to Great Torrington. They also explained all the different places to help with producing a collaborative collage.
