Boodle the Dog Returns to Bluecoat

For the second year running, Mrs Hogan's pet dog Boodle enjoyed a visit to Bluecoat to meet the new Year 4 cohort. Boodle's visit was planned to help the children to learn about dog behaviour to further support them with their English writing unit.

The pupils learned about what kinds of  things dogs like to do, such as sniffing and exploring. They fed him treats, groomed him and walked him around the playground. This hands-on experience helped the children back in the classroom, collecting vocabulary to support their narrative writing about a dog who found a new home when he was rescued off the street.

After all the excitement, Boodle enjoyed a well deserved nap whilst everyone had their maths lesson. It's a dog's life!

Thank you to Boodle for being such a well behaved guest.
