Netball Report - First League Match by Marley

On the 7th of October 2025, Bluecoat played St. Helen's at Langtree Village Hall’s MUGA.  The team was newly formed with the players being Honey, Livvy, Poppy, Isabelle, Chloe, Me (Marley) and Ezri.  I was the captain. We lost the toss so choose which end to shoot first.

In the first quarter everyone played well getting the ball near to the hoop but no one scored. 

In the second quarter St Helen's scored first, closely followed by Chloe scoring Bluecoat's first goal. St Helen’s scored another goal leaving the score 2:1 to St Helen’s at half time.

In the third quarter Ezri scored our second goal and set the score to a draw at 2:2. 

In the fourth quarter Poppy scored 2 goals and I scored the final Bluecoat goal.  Resulting in a 5 goal win for Bluecoat and 2 goals to St Helen's!

Overall all the players played amazingly well as a team and despite some being very new players, showed some great skills in interception, passing and shooting.  We need to work on our defence. Player of the match in our team was awarded by the umpire to me, Marley.

Netball Report - Second League Match by Livvy

On the 14th of October we played against Bradworthy in our second match in the league.  The team was me (Livvy) and I was the captain, Marley, Honey, Chloe, Ezri and Poppy. 

In the first quarter Bradworthy set off the game scoring the first goal shortly after that they scored another goal. 

In the second quarter Marley scored Bluecoat's first goal not even realising it went in until the empire said it was.  It was a great goal from near the D line. Bradworthy scored their third, fourth and fifth goal.

Then in the third quarter nobody scored and Bluecoat held a strong defence.

Finally in the fourth quarter Bradworthy scored the final goal ending the match 6:1.

Although we were a player down, we all played our best and stayed strong against a very competitive opposition which also had 3 boys playing. 

Netball Report - Third League Match by Poppy

On the 21st of October we played netball against Langtree school. The players were me (Poppy), Marley, Isabelle, Livvy, Ezri, Honey and Chloe. 

At first both teams held a strong defence and no one managed to score in the first quarter but both teams had a few shots, unfortunately no shots went in.

In the second quarter the defence was still strong and we only let Langtree score one goal. We all were finding great space and staying strong.

In the third quarter Langtree went onto score 5 amazing goals, all were great shots.  Near the end of the third quarter Poppy scored a goal from near the edge of the D. 

In the last quarter our defence was better, only letting in 3 goals. Ezri had a couple of shots but the ball didn't go in. In the end Langtree won 9:1.  As a team we are improving well together but need to work on maintaining possession and not losing the ball to intercepts when passing.  Livvy was awarded player of the match for finding space.
