On Wednesday 28th January, Bluecoat took part in a netball tournament at GTS. In the team were - Marley, Livvy, Poppy, Isabelle, Ezri, Chloe, Layton and Alice.
They played matches against Langtree and Bradworthy A and B team using ‘Bee Netball Rules’.
What is Bee Netball?
Bee Netball is friendly, high-energy and carefully designed for children. Bee Netball is England Netball’s fun and nurturing programme for children (aged 5-11-year-olds) at the beginning of their team sport journey. It is designed to introduce children to netball skills: throwing, catching, footwork and shooting.
In the first match against Bradworthy Yellow team, Ezri scored a goal in the first half but they scored a goal in the first quarter and 2 goals in the second and third quarter. The final score was 5:1 to them.
In the second match against Langtree (who won the league in Autumn), Chloe scored in the third quarter but they scored a goal in the first, second and third quarter and 3 more in the last quarter. The final score was 6:1 to them.
In the third match against Bradworthy Blue team, Layton scored in the third quarter. They scored 2 goals in the first, second and last quarter and one goal in the third. The final score was 7:1 to them.
Bluecoat came fourth in the tournament; it was a real challenge but they enjoyed the morning and luckily it stayed dry. Alice and Layton did particularly well in their first competitive matches.
A big thank you to Stacey and Dave for accompanying the team, enabling them to take part.
