The children in Chapter One would like to give their grateful thanks to the GREAT TORRINGTON TOWN & LANDS CHARITY who supplied a grant allowing us to purchase new trikes with sidecars, rickshaws and larger bikes for our children to use.
This is a vital part of our Early Years curriculum as we seek not only to develop our children’s physical skills, but also their personal and social skills as they work together as a team. These new trikes also provide a natural opportunity to talk about safety whilst taking managed risks and are an excellent way to practice concentration, determination and perseverance. It is great to see the children setting their own goals to achieve using these fantastic resources. Thank you so much for your support and generosity. The children are enjoying every moment possible using the new trikes.
We were also able to purchase another tandem trike with money raised by families after our Reception Christmas show. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and made a donation.
Who knows… we may be fuelling a love of cycling that sees one or more of our children competing at a future Olympic Games or Tour de France!
