Democracy in Action: House Captain Elections

On Monday 30th September, pupils from years 2 to 6 gathered in the halls in their respective House Teams as the year 6 candidates for House Captain took to the stage. With speeches in hand, and some eye-catching posters, each candidate shared their manifesto with their 'constituents' and explained why they would make a great House Captain. Pupils had time for consideration before heading to the polling station. Each candidate had a tray with their photo displayed proudly on it, and the pupils were given a cube with which to vote for a girl and a boy.

With all votes cast, the exciting task of counting the cubes was carried out by 2 members of staff in order to verify the counts. The results were in!

We are delighted to announce that the elected House Captains for 2019-2020 are:

Team Torridge
Freya Bond & William Vowles

Team Tavy
Sienna Dymond & Jaydon Andrew

Team Tamar
