The Reception children have had a great adventure as they have investigated, explored and found out about space, both through fact and fiction. They really enjoyed the visit from the space dome and felt as though they really were in space looking at the stars.
They have read, learnt and told their own space stories, invented aliens and described them. They have built symmetrical aliens from ‘light bricks’ and created others from building bricks as well as designing their own planets and creating them with lego. They even made and ‘launched’ their own rockets. This topic has truly captured their interest and imagination as well as making them think about kindness to all and diversity through space stories like ‘The Smeds and the Smoos’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
