During the first half of the spring term, children from Year 1 welcomed their parents and carers to their classroom to showcase some of their great phonic practice. They demonstrated their
phonics skills by exploring the alternative graphemes for Phase 5 sounds and
had a chance to play segmenting and blending games with their grown up.
Children were able to teach their grown up about ‘alien’
(nonsense) words and show them how fast they can read them using known trigraphs
and diagraphs including split vowel diagraphs!
Thanks to all of those parents
and grandparents for attending and supporting their children with their
learning.
