Year of the Rat - Reception Celebrations

The Reception children have been having a wonderful time finding out about how some people celebrate Chinese New Year.  They have learnt about and tried traditional Chinese food and tried to use chopsticks.  They learnt and presented the story of how the animals had a year of the Chinese Zodiac named after them.  They made music and danced, made lanterns and money pouches.  They presented their learning to their families, giving them quite a fright as two lengthy dragons entered the hall!
