On Thursday 22nd July, our cohort of Year 6 pupils headed to The Plough Arts Centre for the movie premiere of their film, 'Mayfair Mash Up'. The film was a celebration of their time at Bluecoat and also to mark the occasion of Mayfair, which has been cancelled for the last 2 years due to the pandemic.
The children, all dressed up suitably for the occasion, were greeted with star treatment of red carpet (thank you RHS Garden Rosemoor), paparazzi (Mr Newall!) and Hollywood themed decorations.
Following the film, there was the annual Bluecoat Oscars and the awards went to:
Best male actor: Josh B
Best female actor: Allannah
Most enthusiastic singer: Celyn
Best Choreographer: Amber
Best blooper: Freya
Best supporting male actors: Lucas & Dillon
Best supporting female actor: Bella
Best comic performance: Brandon
Best Dancer: Freddie
The occasion was also an opportunity to bid a fond farewell to long serving Teaching Assistants, Mrs McConnachie and Mrs Johns who between them have clocked up 56 years service! Also, Mrs Young our SENDCo who is moving on to pastures new after making such a valuable contribution to the school and the lives of so many of our families. We wish them well.
Finally, we wish our year 6 cohort all the very best for their future endeavours, They have been an absolute pleasure to teach (nearly all the time!) and have made it through a crazy 18 months. Good luck to you all!
