A Blessing, A Presentation & A Farewell

On 15th July, Reverend Peter and Mrs Bevan were invited to join Year 2 for a very special celebration service.

During the course of this year, there has been a very exciting building project happening in school - The Hive. The Hive is a multi-functional space which the children are very keen to use. Father Peter began our service by blessing The Hive, ready for it to be used as a collective worship space.

The group then moved on to the new amphitheatre where the Year 2 children were presented with their Bibles by Mrs Bevan. The Bibles are gifted every year to Year 2 from Torrington Baptist Church. Some of the Collective Worship Ambassadors joined the children for the service and read some Bible verses relevant to the occasion.

The final part of our service was to mark the retirement of Father Peter, who has been connected to Bluecoat School for the past 5 years. Wishing the Bevans well as they move on to pastures new, they were presented with flowers and a gift from the school.

I’m sure you will agree that the beautiful sunshine that day was equally matched by the sunny smiles on all the children’s faces!
