Year 5 have been finding out how to mix paints to create tints, tones and shades, and looking closely at how well-known artists have used these effectively in landscape paintings. We also learned about how artists use perspective and the horizon in their artwork.
At the beginning of October, the children walked to the Commons and made their own landscape sketches, which they then used to create a landscape painting, thinking carefully about how and where to use different tints, tones and shades.
