Torrington Community Awards

On 17th March, the Torrington Community Awards ceremony took place in the Town Hall. We would like to congratulate Coral Guppy from class 4A who won the children’s category award for Young Carer, an award sponsored by Torrington Dental Practice and awarded to a young person in the community who cares for someone in their family or someone in their community.  During the presentation they highlighted Coral's caring side mentioning that when she has a birthday party she makes sure to invite the whole class aswell as children in other year groups with additional needs as she knows first-hand how they can often be not invited to parties for being different. They also talked about how when Coral goes out and about she ensures she always has some small change ready to hand out to anyone who's homeless and takes time to have a good chat. A worthy winner indeed!

We were also delighted to hear that the award for Community Carer, sponsored by Webbers Estate Agents, was awarded to Karen Chapman and Morag Flower for their work with so many young people in the community through their Allsorts Children’s Club.
