In the Nest, the children have been finding out how to be ‘master builders’ by using the ideas of the three little pigs and attempting to build houses from straw, sticks and bricks. They had a lesson in being brick layers and mixed their own cement. They even tried building with fruit loaf, cutting bricks and cementing them together with icing!
The children have learnt a song about the story in the Bible of the wise and foolish builders and tested that idea by building on sand and a solid rock and simulating rain. They discovered that the story and the song were true - building on the rock gives a good solid foundation.
